Keith Layton , Vice President of Operations

As vice president of operations at Datotel, LLC, Keith Layton is responsible for the overall design, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Datotel Facilities and Network.

Layton brings extensive experience in telecommunications networks, facility deployment and operations to Datotel.  His experience spans all aspects of telecommunications networks including real estate, infrastructure construction, legal and regulatory issues.

Layton entered the telecommunications industry in 1988 proving his abilities as a capable leader with top-tier carriers including Consolidated Communications, MCI, MFS, WorldCom, and others.  With these organizations, Layton honed his experience with voice, data and optical telecommunications equipment from vendors including DSC, Ericsson, NorTel, Alcatel, ONI Systems and Cisco.

Layton later founded, owned and operated, two successful telecommunication contracting companies including Network Electronic Services (NES) and Utility Construction Services. NES, a telecommunications consulting company, provided turn-key facility deployment services to inter-exchange and competitive local exchange providers including WorldCom, Nextlink and AT&T Canada.  Utility Construction Services, a directional boring company, constructed network segments in the St. Louis market for Level(3), Nextlink and others.

Prior to his position with the Datotel, Layton worked with CoreExpress where his team was responsible for all aspects of the deployment of the CoreExpress metropolitan fiber networks across the country.

Layton also volunteers at the St. Louis County Fair & Air Show every year.
